Baking Powder Tips

Baking powder is a leavening agent used to give volume and lighten texture of baked goods.   Because of this, it’s important that your baking powder is fresh…so it can do its job.

Here is a quick trick to tell if your baking powder is fresh.

Put one teaspoon of baking powder in 1/3 cup of water.  If it doesn’t fizz…it is too old and needs to be replaced.

Like I say we never get too old to learn. Age only applies to our baking powder; Im sure it would be a waste of water for me to test mine.

I know how you feel. I just bought some and I have been meaning to test it just for fun…even though I know it is fresh :)
