Make Ahead Dishes for the Holidays

by Katie on November 11, 2011

Ready of not…Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner?

Are you ready?

If not, it okay…it’s not to late to get a head start! I’ve linked up some freezer friendly dishes that you can make now and get ahead in the kitchen!

Wouldn’t it be nice to have the majority of your food preparation done early this year? Just imagine…you could spend the holiday enjoying your family instead of slaving away in the kitchen!  Pretty good idea, huh!?!

Breakfast:
Cinnamon Rolls
Muffins
Quick Breads
Coffee Cakes

Side Dish:
Green Bean Casserole
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
Rolls or Bread
Macaroni and Cheese
Applesauce
Twice Baked Potatoes

Dessert:
Cookies
Brownies or Bars
Biscotti
Pies or Pie Filling (not cream)

Do you have any other ideas of thing to make ahead and freeze?

I am a big fam of freezer cooking but would still consider myself a “newbie” when it comes to venturing to other things besides my trusty dinners. I can’t wait to try some of these… Especially the cinnamon rolls! Those look like they will be a HUGE hit around my house. This holiday season, my goal is to have as much done “ahead” of time as possible… even WRAPPING!!! I REALLY appreciate these Freezer Cooking Friday Posts.

I like your goal this year!! I’m anxious to try out the cinnamon rolls. If you try them let me know how they turn out :)
