Quick and Easy Garlic-Parmesan Rolls

by Katie on April 3, 2012

Before I share this recipe I feel like I need to preface this post.

I’m a bread snob. Especially when it comes to rolls at a Holiday dinner. I mean no offense, but I will pass the brown and serve rolls right along. No thank you. I blame it on my Grandma. She happens to make the best homemade rolls. And it would probably be considered a sin to bring store bought rolls into her kitchen.  I don’t think anyone has ever tried it.

It’s something you just DON’T do. Never. Ever.

So – I learned to make homemade rolls like her! But sometimes I just don’t plan ahead enough. Sometimes I just need something a bit quicker and easier. I’m just not as efficient as Grandma.

I saw this recipe over at Our Best Bites, and while I was hesitant at first about using frozen rolls…they convinced me that these were some rolls that I needed to try. So I did. And they were incredible. Cheesy, buttery, flavorful goodness. And now here we are and gluten is out to get me – so there will be no yummy yeasty rolls on my Easter plate.  And that makes me want to cry.  Like for real.

But…you all should make them and enjoy them…it would make me feel better to know that someone is!

Quick and Easy Garlic-Parmesan Rolls

Yield: 20 Rolls

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (fresh or canned)
  • 20 rise and bake frozen rolls (I use Rhodes)

  1. Place the butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning in a microwave-safe dish and heat until melted. Whisk in the Parmesan cheese.
  2. Place the frozen dough balls in a large bowl. Drizzle the buttery cheese mixture over the dough and then toss quickly to evenly coat the dough in the butter and cheese. Place the dough in a 9×13″ pan and allow to rise until doubled (follow the package directions).
  3. Bake according to package directions until the rolls are evenly golden on top.

I’m a bread snob too, but these rolls look to die for!! I must admit I subbed some of Rhodes frozen cinnamon rolls instead of my homemade ones the othe day and they were delicious!!

Last time I just made the Meijer brand rising yeast rolls with this and they were awesome and tonight I am making the Rhodes ones you recommended so they will probably be even better! Thanks again for all your work on this blog!
