Orange Fluff Jello Salad

by Katie on June 22, 2012

I came across the recipe on Six Sister’s Stuff a while back and I immediately knew that it was a recipe I HAD to try. It just looked so delicious and fruity and fluffy!  I know jello salads get picked on a lot as being for old people, but this one can hold its own!  This Orange Fluff Jello Salad is fruity, fluffy, and just delicious!

I’ve always been a bit confused by “jello salads” though. Are they are dessert or a side dish? They don’t quite go with dinner type foods, but they usually aren’t a true dessert…What does your family do?

ooohhh….I make one very much like this recipe…but I don’t use pudding in mine. I use a can of crushed pineapple (20 oz.) and a can of mandarian oranges…..drained for 30 minutes. Place in a bowl and pour over one package of orange jello. Mix and add one container of cottage cheese. Then fold in your container of whipped topping. Place in a pretty bowl and refrigerate till serving time.
My family loves this. And we always use jello salad as a side for the first meal….and thereafter sneak bowls of the stuff till it’s gone whenever we can!

This sounds like a nice cool treat for a day like today! I wonder if it would be good if you swapped out the fruit/jello with a berry?

Hi Sara! I think it would be awesome with a berry flavor instead…especially raspberry!?!
