Some Creative Party Ideas…

by Katie on August 1, 2012

Anyone throwing a party soon? My sister just threw a bridal shower for her best friend and I wanted to highlight a couple cool things she did for the party – that could easily be recreated at YOUR next party!

Dessert tables are all the rage nowadays. They are all over the internet – and a party just isn’t a party without one right now. :)

Chocolate Covered Marshmallow and Oreo Pop Stand

She wrapped blocks of styrofoam with wrapping paper and stuck the marshmallow and oreo pops right in. It adds color, visual interest, and is just a great way to display your goodies!

The marshmallow and oreos are just dipped in chocolate and put on long sucker sticks!

Wrapped Boxes for Height and Color

This is one of my favorite tricks for setting up a nice display. Just use old boxes and wrap them with wrapping paper. Or, you can just add boxes of different heights and put a tablecloth over the whole thing before displaying food.

Twisted Streamer Backdrop

Crepe paper is so cheap and a great way to add a backdrop. She used black and white here, although the white doesn’t show up well in the picture. Tape it to the ceiling and twist all the way down and tape at the bottom…easy as that!

Do you have any cool party tips?  I would love to hear!!!

Very nice! I think when it comes to dessert tables, color is the main thing. Make sure the color on the table really “pops.” Also, for very little children, it may sound counterintuitive but give fewer choices rather than more. Otherwise it’s overwhelming.

This was a beautiful shower and I am always amazed at the creativity you all have. I never would think about using things like styrofoam, crepe paper or tissue paper. I am always inspired by your ideas and they truly are easy, creative and work beautifully.

Thanks for all you do. :)
