It’s almost time for the Super Bowl! What are you serving?
If you don’t have that settled, maybe I can help you out. Del Monte has a new line of Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes that have a Southwest flair – Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Chipotle Chilies and Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Green Chiles.
Did you know that:
- Del Monte canned tomatoes, fruits and vegetables contain the same essential nutrients as fresh varieties
- The majority of Del Monte products are picked at the peak of ripeness and canned on the same day, to ensure nutrients and flavor are locked in
I was already a huge fan of their Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes, so I was thrilled to try out their new line. They did not disappoint! I added the Chipotle Tomatoes to a Meatball recipe we really like and served it over rice and it was delicious! The Chipotle flavor really came through without being too much.
{Recipe Ideas} for the Superbowl:
Try substituting the new Del Monte tomatoes for the regular diced tomatoes in the recipes above!

I’d make my super easy chicken taco meat in the slow cooker. Just chicken, taco seasoning and two cans of tomatoes on low for 7-9 hours. One of each of these new tomatoes would make this incredible! Might have to pick up some of these today!
Cheryl, I’m going to try out your recipe soon. Sounds simple and delicious!
Cheryl, about how many breasts do you put in? I have GOT to try this…
Hi girls!
I usually use three chicken breasts (in my 4 quart cooker) and this goes a long way! I love to make it when I get a large package of boneless skinless breasts on sale and freeze some for a quick, easy meal on a busy day.
When the breasts are finished cooking they will seem to be “swimming” in a lot of juice, but once you shred the chicken it is all absorbed.
I also make my own taco seasoning to keep the salt content low. Hope you enjoy it Katie and Misty!
I’d make some chilli!
I would make my own recipe for Mexican Vegetable soup with these.
Those would be great in my slow cooker taco soup, yum!
I’d make our favorite easy one skillet meal…ground turkey, pasta and tomatoes.
