How to Cook Spaghetti Squash

One thing I really enjoyed about the Whole30 was that it forced me to try healthy new things. One of those things was spaghetti squash. We loved it! It’s great served with spaghetti sauce, but there are so many other ways to use it in a meal, as well.

I had always planned to try it, but I never got around to it. I was intimidated by the giant squash.  It doesn’t taste like a spaghetti noodle, it has a mild squash taste and it has a crunchier consistency.  It’s really kind of hard to describe…if you like squash I would say that you will probably like it.

It’s super easy to make…and I will show you how through pictures.

All you do is pierce it and bake it on a baking sheet at 375 for an hour.

Let it cool a bit since it will be smoking hot. Slice in half, scoop out the seeds and start pulling the “spaghetti” out. It’s really cool to pull it out. It looks just like noodles.

Top it with Mamaw’s Spaghetti Sauce and serve with some steamed broccoli and you have an easy dinner that is healthy and Whole30 approved!

I am going to make this very soon! I can’t bring myself to eat another rice or corn noodle. It may take a little while to persuade Daddy :)) it is not like when we food process the onions (it is for his own good)!
