Candy Cane Fudge

This easy recipe for Candy Cane Fudge is a must-make for this time of year!

During the Christmas season my love for minty and candy cane treats goes wild! Maybe you can tell that already because this is the second minty recipe this week – Minty Hot Chocolate.  In all fairness, one is creme de menthe and this one is peppermint…and they aren’t exactly the same thing.

Have you tried those Candy Cane Kisses and the Mint Truffle Kisses? They are amazing! I stock up on them when they go on sale so I can have them through the year. If you are looking for a gift for me…that would be a good place to start. Help me fulfill my stockpile need. My tastebuds would thank you. My clothes…well, not so much. ;)

I make this recipe for Candy Cane Fudge and Orange Creamsicle Fudge every Christmas. I don’t always do the traditional fudge types, but I always make these and they are nice different treat choice on a table of Christmas cookies and candies. Add something to your line-up this year and make this easy Candy Cane Fudge. It is really simple to make and your family will thank you!

Candy Cane Fudge

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cups whipping cream
  • 1 package (10-12 oz) white chips
  • 1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow cream
  • 3 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • red food coloring
  • crushed candy canes, if desired

  1. Grease an 8x8 pan with butter and set aside.
  2. In a heavy saucepan add the butter, sugar and whipping cream. Cook and stir over low heat until the sugar is melted. Making sure the sugar is melted is KEY to a fudge that isn't gritty. Once the sugar is dissolved bring to a boil and cook for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallow cream and white chips and stir until smooth.
  3. Add the red food coloring and peppermint extract. Pour into prepared pan. Top with crushed candy canes if desired.
