Got Christmas Money? Here 10 of My Favorite Things of 2014!

by Katie on January 1, 2015

I love sharing things!  Of course you know I love sharing recipes, but I like sharing other things, too!  Sometimes there are just certain products that I just can’t get enough of and wonder, “How did I live without this?”. I decided to share my favorites again this year because I just couldn’t help myself. :)

If you have some Christmas money that you are dying to spend…I’ve got your covered with some awesome stuff!

Favorite things in 2014! - www.cuttingbackkitchen.com

1.Fitbit Flex: I love my Fitbit Flex. I love that it keeps me moving and keeps my step count, but I also really love the water tracker and sleep tracker. I wear it all the time and love the motivation it provides…I’m especially going to rely on it in this new year! I got mine at Costco, but you can also get one on Amazon.

2. Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Dark chocolate + peanut butter = AMAZING! I like Reese’s, but these are a million times better. Not even kidding.

3. Young Living Essential Oils. Have you heard about essential oils?  It’s my favorite thing of the year, without a doubt.  I went around and around about taking the oily plunge and it took me a long time to actually order my Premium Starter Kit.  I wasn’t sure if they would really work and wasn’t sure about spending the money, but it was seriously the BEST thing I have done for my health!!!

I can’t say enough about it and carry them everywhere with me!!!!  If you want to know more about my testimonials feel free to email me about it…I would be more than happy to share!  It’s the perfect time of year to purchase your own starter kit and start getting oily.  Oh, and I will include a special gift from me to go along with your new kit!

4. Toddy Cold Brew Coffee Maker. I discovered this gem in Colorado this past summer. I got the best iced coffee I had ever had and I went back up in line to find out what kind of coffee they used – they responded with “Toddy”. I did a little googling and found that Toddy is not a coffee, but a way to brew the coffee. I ordered one with my Amazon Prime and it was waiting for me when I got back from vacation. Best. Iced. Coffee. Ever.

5. The Savannah Bee Company Luxurious Royal Jelly Body Butter Cream. I found this when we were in Savannah this summer. Imagine that!? It’s pretty much my favorite hand cream and it keeps my hands feeling amazing! I went crazy in their store and also bought some more lotions and chopsticks. Oh, and a lotion bar for my Samson puppy for his nose and paws in the winter. He loves it too. :)

6. Teavana. Specifically Earl Grey Creme. Starbucks is supposed to be switching over their hot teas for Teavana, but ours hasn’t really done it yet. We were traveling and I went to a Starbucks and they had the Teavana teas and I tried Earl Grey Creme…I love earl grey and it’s in my top 2 of earl grey teas. That was back in late summer and I’m still waiting on my Starbucks to get it in…I finally just want to Teavana and purchased some.

7. Pur Minerals Lip Gloss Stick. I keep a lot of lip products on hand. I mainly use lip gloss and chapstick and this Pur Lip Gloss Stick is my favorite for lip gloss. It gives a good color, but isn’t too heavy or glossy. It’s a must have in my purse – I wear the berry color.

8. Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker. We transformed a lot of things in our house this year. I worked endlessly in the garage painting doors, baseboards and refinishing our kitchen cabinets. I mean endlessly. I was just running Pandora through my iPad and it wasn’t great sound. Daniel surprised me with this speaker and while I didn’t want to pay the $200 for it…it was an awesome purchase. Plus we saved way more than $200 by me doing the work! I use it pretty much every day at home, we have taken it on vacation and I take it to my parent’s properties when I go to clean for them.

9. For Such a Time by Kate Breslin. Great book! It’s a historical Christian book that is similar to the story of Esther in the Bible. I loved it and could not believe it was her first book.

10. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow. I’m a cheapskate when it comes to make-up. I have to have Pur minerals, Kenra hairspray, Big Sexy Root Pump Plus and Urban Decay eye primer, but other than that it’s pretty much drugstore stuff. I found a deal on this eye palate and decided to splurge a little. Oh my, there is a big difference in what I had and this. It’s really pigmented and a little goes a long way. I love it and I think it will last me forever!

There you have it…my favorite things for the year! I would love to hear what your favorite things are!!

You have a Fitbit??? I’ve been kind of looking at something like that….does it have a display? Or is it one that you have to plug into the computer to see your results???

I like the idea of being able to see at a glance my totals for the day….don’t mind the plug in part for ongoing stats i.e. weekly/monthly though!!!

Yep, and I love it, Cherie! I like mine because it is really slim and doesn’t stand out since I wear it everyday but it doesn’t have a display on the device. I have the app on my phone and it syncs all the time so I can just look at my phone to see my stats. It does buzz and light up and stuff to let me know I’m on target or reached my goals for the day.

I love this post… I forgot all about that Toddy that you were telling me about after your trip. This totally reminded me I have been wanting one! The same with that book, you reviewed it awhile back and I had forgotten all about it until now. :) Gotta look into picking that up…

I would absolutely love to hear more about your oils journey. I know I have told you my Aunts are sold on them… Maybe you can email me???

Got my January menu planned out with some yummy CBK recipes. :)
