Well, hello Whole30! This started today and so far so good. The Whole30 isn’t a diet, but just eating real food and cutting the junk. Grain-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, soy-free…just veggies, fruit, protein and healthy fats. We did it about 2 years ago, and I really felt like I needed a reset so it’s time to revisit it!
The one thing I remember about it is a TON of prep work. I’m trying to keep it as simple as I can to maintain my sanity. There will definitely be a lot of duplicated breakfasts and lunches this month!
Summer is the perfect time of year to do it because there is just so much fresh goodness to eat! Here’s to a month of clean eating!
Breakfasts: Hard boiled eggs, veggies and fruit OR Sausage and Egg Scramble
Lunch: Tuna or Chicken Salad (with homemade mayo) over greens, fresh fruit and fresh veggies. Or Leftovers. Or Sweet Potato with Italian Sausage, Apple and Onion.
Monday- Naked Burgers with toppings, Green Beans and Steamed Sugar Snap Peas
Tuesday- Crock Pot Spaghetti Squash with Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and Steamed Broccoli
Wednesday- Sweet and Spicy Roasted Vegetables and Chicken Sausage (omit maple syrup)
Thursday- Ranch Stuffed Peppers with Homemade Guacamole and Steamed Veggies
Friday- Carne Asada with Tomatillo Avocado Salsa and Fajita Veggies
Saturday- Sweet Potato and Sausage Bake
Sunday- Grilled Chicken, Sweet Potato Fries and Grilled Veggies
