I have taken a break from cooking. I haven’t had any new recipes to share, and that is mainly because our kitchen has been open for throw-together meals only lately because we bought a new house!
Did we have ours sold? Did we have ours ready to list? NO. Not at all. Long story short…we were looking to move NEXT Spring, but came across a house we liked in pictures, went to an open house and loved it, and we placed an offer on it that day. I’ve looked at so many houses and never love any of them…so we knew it was the right one for us.
Then the mad dash was on to get our house ready to sell. I’ve been working on going through everything and boxing things up and we got our house listed yesterday. I have to keep our house show-ready at all times I guess, but I think I can get back to cooking some between boxing our stuff up as long as I keep my diffuser running with Purification so the house smells pretty.
We love our new house for so many reasons, but it can be primarily summed up in three words – Three-Seasons Room. Daniel went out back to this room and he had to have it. I think he plans to practically live in this room…sadly, moving in November is probably not one of the three seasons the room will be used much.
While I haven’t had much time to get creative in the kitchen, I do have a wonderful broccoli salad to share. I have another broccoli salad recipe on the blog, but you can never have enough broccoli salads, right? I got this recipe from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. She has the most awesome recipes and several of our favorites come from her.
I love making this up and serving it with some fresh corn and a grilled burger or chicken. It’s super easy to make this up and doesn’t take much time at all. It has a little Balsamic vinegar in the dressing, which really gives it some great flavor and depth beyond just mayonnaise.
